BRICK – Police called for the public’s help after a road rage incident, in which shots were fired from a pickup truck at a second car on Saturday evening.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Brick Township police responded to a report of red light shots at the Highway 70 and 88 interchange.
Officers recovered a bullet from a vehicle’s front passenger door frame. The driver was not injured.
Police said the suspects were described as two white men in their late twenties to early thirties, driving a “new model of red pickup truck with an extended cab.”
The two vehicles were both traveling on Brick Boulevard, police said, and as they took Route 70 East, the truck passed the other driver, then “braked” him several times, stopping just ahead. the moving car.
When stopped at a red light at the Highway 70 and 88 interchange, a man in the truck fired three shots at the passenger side of the other vehicle.
The truck then took off further east along Route 70, passing several red lights in the process, police said.
Police requested information from all potential witnesses, including anyone with a working dashcam who was traveling on Brick Boulevard South and Route 70 East between 7:35 p.m. and approximately 8:00 p.m.

Driving rage that escalates
This is the second incident involving gunfire between moving vehicles reported since Thursday.
A driver on Route 78 in Warren County said a truck driver pulled at his car in a road rage incident on Thursday morning’s commute, state police said.
The soldiers who responded saw a hole in the person’s windshield that appeared to match a shot from a tractor-trailer, while the driver was unharmed.
In July, another incident involved gunshots at a woman driving a Toyota Camry, along Route 78, near Route 287.
This driver said the shots came from a black SUV with Pennsylvania license plates.
