Rich OMG Yamaha’s David Johnson has been kicked out of the 2022 TT after an accident at the Oulton British Superbike round left him with a broken pelvis and collarbone.

The Aussie was spat from his R1 as he exited Knickerbrook and landed heavily before being picked up by the bike.

A team statement reads:

David Johnson unfortunately suffered a fractured collarbone and pelvis in his heavy fall during the inaugural Bennetts British Superbike race at Oulton Park on Sunday. Davo was sideways from his Yamaha R1 exiting Knickerbrook, landing heavily on the circuit before being hit by his own motorbike. The Australian was transferred to Stoke Hospital where tests eventually revealed the extent of his injuries.

It is with great sadness that the team has made the difficult decision to withdraw Davo from the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT events. The team is deeply disappointed for Davo and wishes him a full and speedy recovery.

It is not yet known whether Johnson will be replaced on the Superbike and Superstock machines, but Michael Dunlop has yet to announce his plans. Attention, his last outing in R1 at the TT did not go well.
