Crews from the Isle of Man are helping restore electricity supply to northern England.
This follows the devastation caused by Storm Arwen last weekend.
Two airline crews and an engineer from Manx Utilities left the island last weekend on the overnight ferry and immediately got to work, following induction protocols allowing them to work on the local power grid .
The Manx Utilities team worked through the night and long hours in difficult conditions to restore power to many homes in the Cumbria area.
Manx Utilities President Rob Callister MHK said: âI am extremely proud of the swift response provided by the Manx Utilities team and their work under extremely difficult conditions to support those devastated by Storm Arwen. I realize that our teams have been tasked with some of the most difficult restoration tasks, due to their expertise and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. I thank them for their efforts and wish them a safe return home for a well-deserved rest.
