A treasured collection of motor racing’s most famous cars, motorcycles, drivers and racers will once again be on display as they race the famous Goodwood Hill Climb in front of spectators as the crowds return to the Sussex site.
This year’s event will honor the career of American racing giant Roger Penske and his eponymous team with a selection of machines from IndyCar, NASCAR, sports cars, V8 Supercars and his lone race winner from Formula 1, the UK-built PC1 F1 car that won the 1976 Austrian Grand Prix. The ‘captain’ himself, Roger Penske, is also expected to be present.
Contemporary F1 cars will also hit the road alongside icons of the past, while stars such as Lando Norris and McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo, three-time F1 world champion Jackie Stewart and 2009 world champion Jenson Button are on the point of driving.
Motorcycle racing will also be represented by Isle of Man TT legend John McGuinness and former Grand Prix rider Kenny Roberts Jr, among others, while Suzuki will celebrate 50 years of Grand Prix racing with a selection of motorcycles tackling the hill.
Touring cars, sports cars and rally cars will also be at the rendezvous of this celebration of motorsport.
Prodrive will celebrate four decades in motorsport with a collection of F1 machines, touring cars, sports car racing and rallying. It will reunite 1981 WRC champion Ari Vatanen with his championship-winning Ford Escort RS1800 MkII for the first time since his title.
