Dean Harrison confirms 2022 TT, BSB rematch with Peter…

Dean Harrison has confirmed he will return to the 2022 Isle of Man TT roads with Dao Racing as he seeks to defend his hard-fought Senior TT title against heavy favorite Peter Hickman.

The Bradford rider also revealed he will be embarking on another full season of British Superbike Championship (BSB) competition with the same team on a Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

Harrison took a stunning 2019 Senior TT Blue Ribbon win aboard the Dao Racing Silicone Engineering KawasakI ZX-10RR after making the most of the technical issues for Smiths Racing BMW’s Hickman.

Also the second fastest rider on the Mountain Course after Hickman with a lap of 134.9mph, his Senior TT win was his third Isle of Man success and 11th podium.

For 2022, he will remain with the same team – which will race under the Dao Racing banner – while fitting in with his 2022 BSB commitments after becoming a more consistent points scorer in 2021.

“I’m really excited for 2022, I feel like we’re finally getting back to some kind of normality,” he said. “Last year we didn’t have a road race apart from a weekend at Oliver’s Mount, so all of our effort went into BSB.

“I think it’s turned out to be an important season, when you race with some of the fastest superbike riders in the world it can only help you improve and I think myself and the team have a lot learned.

“This year we have the return of international road racing which is very exciting. I am confident that what we have learned at BSB so far will help us be faster when we get back on the road and with a team and a bike that I know and work well with, this could definitely be my best year yet.
