Chester John “Chet” Bojanowski, 74, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Bolivia, North Carolina.
Chet was born in Washington on January 22, 1947, to the late Chester J. Bojanowski, Sr., and Regina Jankowski Bojanowski.
Graduating in 1964 from Canon-McMillan High School, Chet then attended the University of Mt. Union 1968, Alliance, Ohio, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and later received his MBA from the University of Miami 1972, Oxford, Ohio. in finance.
He attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned into the United States Navy in 1968, proudly serving on the USS Little Rock, Gaeta, Italy, and the USS Biddle in Norfolk, Virginia.
Chet had a solid commercial and financial experience of over 40 years. An entrepreneur in various fields of the petroleum industry as well as commercial real estate added to the leadership skills developed during his service in the United States Navy and during his 8 years with Marathon Oil Company.
God used these gifts as a source of strength and wisdom for Chet’s ministry in church and through For His Glory Ministries & Bible College, where he has served as vice president and treasurer since its founding in 1998.
Chet was a man with a deep faith in Jesus Christ and was active in both Brookfield Assembly of God, Brookfield, Wisconsin, and New Beginnings Community Church, Shallotte, NC
God turned Chet’s heart to the mission field when he went on construction trips to build churches and schools in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and El Salvador. He was also a vital part of the FHG teams in Guatemala, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Zambia and Kenya.
In New Beginnings, Chet served on finance and mission committees, joined ramp construction projects, and loved planning the logistics and activities of each mission trip to Puebla, Mexico.
Most recently, her heart turned to the Lord’s Miracle Acre Project at NBCC to feed insecure families through local pantries and Brunswick Senior Resources.
In addition to spending quality time with his family, some of his other loves included: planning fishing trips in Canada and ski trips to Copper Mountain, Colorado, golf, beach, boating, vacations to Cancun and cruises just about anywhere.
Survivor are his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Dr. Kathleen Cassidy Bojanowski, Th.D .; two sons, Brian Bojanowski and his wife Wendi of Rock Hill, SC, and Dan Bojanowski and his wife Erika of Republic, Mo .; eight precious grandchildren, Peace, Blake, Josiah, Wyatt, Jubilee, Solomon, Reuben and Immanuel Bojanowski.
A visitation hour was held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday October 9 at the New Beginnings Community Church at 730 Whiteville Road, NW, Shallotte, NC 28470.
The Celebration of Life service began at noon, followed by a reception dinner.

The funeral will be from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 11 at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with military honors.
The bearers will be Brian Bojanowski, Dan Bojanowski, Tom Chambasian, Frank Laurent, Blake Bojanowski and Josiah Bojanowski (honorary bearers – Daryl Andersen and Jeff Negle).
