Adrenaline Week 3 Player of the Week
Charlie Tallman, Rumson-Fair Haven
Hitting the bottom of the order, Tallman turned out to be Rumson’s secret weapon last week and now the secret is out.
The junior second baseman went 5-for-12 to plate last week with three doubles, one homer, five runs scored nine RBIs in Rumson’s 4-0 week. He opened the week with a four RBIs game in a win over St. 7 Howell.
Tallman’s biggest swing of the week may not have been one of the highlights, but rather a swing leading up to the round of Rumson’s last game of the week. Kicking off the start of the 10th inning last Saturday, Tallman netted a brace to spark the winning rally at Count Basie Field which turned out to be the difference in a 3-1 win over Red Bank Catholic.
Tallman won a tight three-way race with 22% of the vote, which was enough to delay Joe Marini (19.5%) and Evan Agrapides (18.9).
Adrenaline Week 3 Pitcher of the week
Dylan Wanagiel, Catholic of the Red Bank
Red Bank Catholic already had a pitcher of the week winner after Shane Panzini turned in a great first week through 2021 and now the Caseys have a second.
Wanagiel was on top of his game on May 4 against Monmouth Regional at Count Basie Park, where the senior threw a four-stroke shutout with five strikeouts and two goals to eliminate the Falcons in a 7-0 win at Caseys. Apart from an eluded Middletown South round, Wanagiel was extinguished as the Caseys’ No. 2 starter.
As the main voter between the two polls, Wanagiel is the winner of a $ 25 gift card to Burger 25 in Toms River. Rumson-Fair Haven junior Charlie Jones was the runner-up, with 17.5% against 22. Jackson Liberty sophomore Ethan Bloomfield (15%), Jack DiPaolo (14) and Marlboro senior Mark Capell (12 ) all harvested better than 10%. of the pitch vote.
